I am a physical geographer specializing in the study of natural hazards and extreme weather, using geospatial analysis and data-driven methodologies to uncover their underlying dynamics. I focus on machine and deep learning based classification models, understanding the climatology of tropical and extra-tropical cyclones and their driving factors across different geographic and climate regimes. By combining statistical techniques with explainable AI, I aim to advancing AI-based forecasting of extreme weather events.
In the classroom, I bring this interdisciplinary perspective to courses like Earth Environments, Weather and Climate, and Meteorology encouraging students to develop a deeper understanding of atmospheric processes in real-world contexts.
I am committed to innovative teaching, undergraduate research mentorship, experiential learning, and inclusive science communication. I always welcome inquiries regarding undergraduate research opportunities or potential research collaborations.
