If you want soft, flat speakers held in place by a washable headband for kids, choose RunPhones Classic Headphones Blue; if you need wireless open-ear listening with up to 12 hours of battery life, choose Generic S10. For children who may dislike earbuds inside their ears, RunPhones is the more straightforward fit; S10 makes more sense for an older child or adult who wants Bluetooth freedom and call features.
RunPhones Classic Headphones Blue vs Generic S10 at a Glance
RunPhones puts slim, padded speakers inside a royal-blue, sweat-wicking headband. The speakers are adjustable within the fabric, and nothing sits inside the ear canal. That layout may appeal to a child who finds earbuds uncomfortable or has trouble keeping them in place. It also avoids the familiar problem of small earbuds slipping loose during movement.
The wired 3.5 mm connection is a key part of the choice. It means there is no battery to recharge, but the audio source needs a headphone jack or an adapter that supports the connection. Before buying for a child, check the device they will use. A headband cannot solve a compatibility mismatch.
The product information lists the headband as Large. RunPhones is described for activities including running, yoga, and other exercise, as well as travel and sleeping. The flat speakers are intended to be less intrusive when lying on your side, and the band can be washed after its electronics are removed. The product also allows ambient sound through rather than using noise cancellation, which can be useful outdoors when a listener needs to remain aware.
Who should skip it: Skip RunPhones if the listener needs Bluetooth, wants a small in-ear fit, or cannot use a Large headband comfortably.
Generic S10 takes the opposite approach: it is a wireless, open-ear design with an ergonomic ear-hook frame. The product information lists a Bluetooth connection, a range of up to 33 feet, and button controls. That means the listener can move around without a headphone cable trailing to the audio source, as long as the connected device stays within range.

S10 also lists dual wind-resistant microphones and an AI noise-reduction feature for calls. The product claims the feature filters out 96.5% of background noise, including wind at up to 15 miles per hour. This could make it a more versatile option for calls during outdoor activity. Its open-ear design is intended to leave the listener aware of surroundings rather than isolating them.
The product information gives an adult age range, so I would not treat it as a child-sized option based on the supplied details. Its frame uses nickel-titanium alloy, plastic, and silicone, and its listed weight is 30.3 g. It is also a rechargeable electronic device, unlike the wired RunPhones.
Who should skip it: Skip S10 if you want a fabric headband for sleeping, do not want to manage charging, or need a product specifically identified for children.
• Best for kids who dislike earbuds in their ears → RunPhones Classic Headphones Blue. Its flat speakers sit in a headband over the ears instead of inside them. The listed Large size still deserves attention before choosing it for a child.
• Best for wireless listening → Generic S10. It connects by Bluetooth and lists a range of up to 33 feet, so it avoids a cable between the headphones and source.
• Best for no charging routine → RunPhones Classic Headphones Blue. Its wired 3.5 mm connection does not require a headphone battery. The trade-off is that the audio device needs a compatible jack or adapter.
• Best for a long stated battery life → Generic S10. The listed battery life is up to 12 hours, with a one-hour charge time.
• Best for side-lying listening → RunPhones Classic Headphones Blue. Its slim padded speakers are designed to sit flatter than earbuds, and the product is presented as suitable for sleeping and travel.
• Best for hands-free calls → Generic S10. It has dual microphones and a stated noise-reduction feature for calls, including in windy conditions.
• Best for a washable, sweat-wicking fabric design → RunPhones Classic Headphones Blue. The electronics can be removed so the headband can be washed.
• Best for adjustable EQ options → Generic S10. It includes dedicated EQ modes, including a Classic Mode described as pure bone-conduction sound.
For children, fit and device compatibility should come before the appeal of a particular feature. RunPhones is listed as Large, so consider whether that headband size is likely to sit securely and comfortably on the intended wearer. The design avoids placing anything inside the ears, but it still needs to fit properly to keep the speakers in position.
Next, check the audio source. RunPhones connects through a 3.5 mm jack. Generic S10 connects over Bluetooth, but wireless use brings a charging routine and depends on a compatible Bluetooth device.
Think about where the headphones will be used. RunPhones is a fabric headband that can be washed once its electronics are removed, which is a practical feature for exercise or travel. Its flatter speakers are also intended to be more comfortable when lying on one’s side. S10 has an open-ear frame and is aimed at sports use; it adds call microphones, button controls, and EQ modes.
Neither product is described as noise-canceling. Both are presented as allowing awareness of the surroundings, which can matter outdoors, but that does not make either one a substitute for adult supervision or safe listening habits. For a sleep headphones gift for kids, RunPhones has the more relevant headband-and-side-lying design. For someone specifically searching for long battery life Bluetooth earbuds for kids, S10 matches the wireless and battery-life part of that request, but its listed age range is Adult and it is not an in-ear earbud design.
For a child who wants audio without earbuds inside the ears, I would choose RunPhones Classic Headphones Blue. Its headband holds adjustable flat speakers over the ears, and its washable fabric design suits travel, exercise, and side-lying use. For kids, I would first make sure the Large fit is appropriate and the listening device has a 3.5 mm jack or compatible adapter. I would pick S10 instead for an adult or older listener who values Bluetooth, calls, and up to 12 hours of battery life.
