RUN THE ROSE CITY.

Bring a good attitude, a couple bucks for convenience store "aid stations", and your favorite shorts for a tour of classic Portland running spots.

The routE (Strava Link with .gpx)

You get a good mix of car-free paths, sidewalks and road shoulders, and about nine dirt/gravel miles of Leif Erikson Rd in Forest Park. The only remotely technical/challenging terrain comes from a short descent from Leif to connect to the St. Johns Bridge at around mile 20. That Forest Park stretch is also the longest "unsupported" portion by far, so plan accordingly with fuel and hydration.

Our runs are "fatass" style, in the tradition of grassroots long-distance running. No course markings, no aid stations, no crew. You can crush a sub-4 hour day in Alphaflys if you want, or you can sample as many mini mart corn dogs as you can afford along the way. Or both, if you're bold.

Elevation gain is estimated at 1200 feet, almost all of which comes from going up NW Thurman and traveling the length of Leif.
