The RunnerGirl Project is a FREE summer running program located in Davis for girls going into 1st-8th grade. It is created and run entirely by volunteers - all of which are local high school runners. Our mission is to foster a love of running in young girls and hopefully inspire them to continue their running journey into middle/high school. During the 2023-2024 school year, approximately 240,000 boys competed in high school cross country, while only around 190,000 girls did (via NFHS). Although the sport is growing for girls, there's still a large gap in participation. All of us at RunnerGirl Project can say that running has undoubtedly changed our lives for the better. Our hope is to encourage girls to pursue running throughout both middle/high school and the rest of their lives. We believe that running empowers girls with strength and confidence and we want to spread the joy of running  to as many girls as possible.
