It's time for the race of the year. The Granddaddy of the them all. An annual tradition starting in let's say 2010. The DGS Alumni race.
DGS has a very storied history in cross country finishing 14th in 2018, 10th in 2017, and 12th in 2015. DGS XC history starts in 2016 making it very impressive that the team has only missed state once. DGS has also won the WSC-Gold conference title (Gold is the top division, with Silver being similar to a middle school conference in quality) for quite a few years in a row.
In the past the alumni have traditionally won the alumni race due to scoring less points compared to the DGS team. This year will be no different as the team that scores the least amount of points will win.
I'm not super familiar with the current DGS team, but know that they had a really good 400 workout last week and have some kid named Tim. As for the alumni, some are washed up, while others have had fantastic collegiate careers at places like Loyola, Illinois, Loyola, UW-Parkside, Loyola, Valpraiso, Illinois, Elmhurst, Elmhurst again, UW-Whitewater, ISU and some others I'm forgetting.
Full disclosure I have no clue who's actually running in this year's race other than David Patel is a DNF. I also don't really know how in shape anyone is other than Eddie, Weigel, Brock, Peloso, George, Rylan, Stephen, and Akhil plan their morning runs in a group chat I'm for some reason in.
Predicting where people are going to finish is hard so the entrants are going to be ordered in the random order I thought of them in.
