Impact is more than just the amount of money you raise! It's the MESSAGE you send!
The impact of the Run for Matt 5K is more than just raising money. It's about the amount of people we are able to help all over the world. Supplying them a once in a lifetime experience that we get to give them. Whether they had full active mobility before or not, we are able to give them the ability to strive for success!
Mission
My mission is to help the millions of people worldwide who cannot afford the proper prosthetic care they need. To save their families from a lifelong debt of a care they deserve to have.
On average about 45 million people worldwide cannot afford prosthetics and their prosthetic care. With our help, we can begin to make this number smaller. For just one prosthetic limb, can cost anywhere from $3,000-$10,000. Many people do not have this amount of money just laying around for when they need it. Helping support this cause will save amputees from having to worry about paying an expensive cost for something they need.
Meet Emily Blanding and learn about her impact message.
Hi! I'm Emily, and I started the Run for Matt 5K fundraising movement. I am a sixteen year old from Uxbridge, Massachusetts and strive to help as many people I can. After my father's passing in 2019, I knew that I wanted to work with people who need prosthetic care. Instead of going to a normal high school, I chose go to Blackstone Valley Technical and I am currently in the Health Services program beginning my journey in healthcare.
I've always known that helping as many people I can is a value of mine, and that I wanted to do something big someday. I am choosing to benefit the lives of amputees because I remember the time it was like for my family when my dad had his amputations. I recall the countless late nights spent and other small jobs my mom would pick up just to help us through the weeks where my dad couldn't work. Knowing that this fundraiser will help support other families financially as well as in their health, gives me the determination to give them the most support I possibly can.
I want to help people in ways that my dad couldn't get support. I am choosing to make a difference in the lives of people to raise awareness and support the ability to get proper prosthetic care. With your support, you can help me impact the lives of people who need help.
Our story, mission, and impact message are what makes us, us. With the opportunity given, I plan to change as many lives that possible
