About Us

Our Club

Throughout the years the club has moved to various different venues for training, but we now are settled in Coolaney. This arena is an ideal size for agility training, and we have all the necessary facilities.

Pamela Harju

Pamela started training dogs in agility at the age of 11 in her native Finland. She trained and competed regularly and made her way to FCI grade 3 with her German Shepherd cross Joona.

In 2007, Pamela commenced agility training as a club in Markree Castle grounds. The club soon attracted new members with their dogs, all keen to try out this exciting canine sport.

Pamela proved to be an excellent instructor bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience from her agility training days in Finland. Pamela clearly explains the technical aspects of agility handling and demonstrates the various obstacles and moves with her own dogs.

Pamela is also an encouraging teacher and quite an expert at building challenging courses for both beginners and advanced handlers.

Pamela with over three decades of experience in agility is always willing to pass on her knowledge to her many enthusiastic human and canine students!

Pamela competes in agility at IKC grade 5 and IADSA grade 7 with her Miniature Schnauzer Dexter and on IKC grade 4 and IADSA grade 3 with her Standard Schnauzer Hector. Elvis, a black Miniature Schnauzer, is learning Foundations. Pamela and her dogs share their house with her partner Francis. They all miss their buddy Toby, who crossed the rainbow bridge in May 2021, and Benny, who passed on in July 2022.

Pamela is an IKC, IADSA and KC approved agility judge.

Berit's Trophy

We run a fun competition league where members compete for a beautiful prize, Berit's Trophy, which is a perpetual trophy expertly made by Seamus Dunbar.

This league is open to all to compete at beginner or advanced level.

Competitions are held four times a year in April, June, August and October, and the best three out of four results count towards the final score. The handler/dog team who have the best overall score with lowest number of faults is the winner and is presented with our amazing trophy. The winner's name is signed in the Berit's League book and also receives a stunning rosette.

Reminder!

Our club has an annual membership fee of €30. To apply for membership, please download the membership form here and pay the fee in class or PayPal at runasonedogagility@gmail.com.
