Founded on July 1, 2020, Troop 628 is excited to offer the Scouts BSA program to girls in the eastern part of Monmouth Council's Twin Lights District. Our Troop is chartered by the Rumson Fire Company and we meet weekly on Tuesday evenings. Our members are active within the community and participate in many service projects such as food drives, trail clean-ups in our local parks, and local Beach Sweeps. We also participate as part of the community in Memorial Day and Veteran's Day Services. Over the course of the year, the scouts plan and/or participate in many trips, training courses, activities, and, of course, Merit Badge meetings.
In our Scout-led troop, the Scouts are responsible for planning and running the weekly meetings, events & trips, and taking an active part in community service.
Scouts BSA Troop 628 is a scout-led troop for girls in Rumson NJ. We are linked with Troop 201 for boys through our chartering organization, the Rumson Fire Company. Our goals are to develop Scouting skills, to foster social relationships among the Scouts, to create an environment in which Scouts can acquire leadership, organizational, and other skills, and to serve our community and the less fortunate. The Troop will accomplish these goals in a manner that is both enjoyable for the Scouts and true to the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
