Because of the proliferation of misinformation and the rise of deniers who believe opinions are more important than evidence-based facts, we are in danger of a dumbed-down society.

Before you spread misinformation, check yourself. Verify your facts from reputable sources before regurgitating what you see, hear, or read. Read laterally, think critically, and present yourself intelligently.
