Started in 2024, the Caye Caulker Crocodiles Rugby Club was set up following a request from the Caye Caulker Village Council and has a junior and senior team currently active. With the teams active and training hard, John Powers of Weezies resort, stepped in to sponsor the team's kit and Citizens Sports donated custom-made rugby balls. The Junior Crocodiles meet on Saturday mornings at 10am on the sports field, senior crocodiles meet every Monday evening at 5-30pm for training and match practice, coached by Tony Gillings.
The club has organized beach and field rugby tournaments and regularly engages with tourists who have some (or no) experience with the sport. The senior team is currently training for their first overseas tournament in 2026.
The club is generously supported by local businesses and has a "Friends" group based in the USA and UK, who donate equipment and funds to help the club develop and expand.
