दश प्राचीर्दश दक्षिणा दश प्रतीचीर्दशोदीचीर्दशोर्ध्वास्तेभ्यो
नमो अस्तु ते नोऽवन्तु ते नो मृडयन्तु ते यं
द्विष्मो यश्च नो द्वेष्टि तमेषां जम्भे दध्मः ॥ ६५॥
Chapter 5, Mantra 65 IAST form
namo'stu rudrebhyo ye'ntarikṣe yeṣāṃ vāta iṣavastebhyo
daśa prācīrdaśa dakṣiṇā daśa pratīcīrdaśodīcīrdaśordhvāstebhyo
namo astu te no'vantu te no mṛḍayantu te yaṃ
dviṣmo yaśca no dveṣṭi tameṣāṃ jambhe dadhmaḥ .. 65..
Meaning:-
This verse is a prayer to the Rudras, addressing those who dwell in the atmosphere ("antarikṣe") and possess the power to bestow winds and arrows ("vāta iṣavastebhyo"). The devotee offers salutations to the ten Rudras in each direction: east, south, west, north, and above. The prayer requests that these Rudras protect and bless the devotee, ensuring that no harm comes from them and that they do not cause distress or suffering. It specifically seeks protection from adversarial forces and asks for a favorable disposition, appealing to the Rudras to refrain from causing enmity or harm, thereby fostering a harmonious and protective environment.
