नीलग्रीवाः शितिकण्ठाः शर्वा अधः क्षमाचराः ।
तेषाꣳ सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि ॥ ५७॥
Chapter 5, Mantra 57 IAST form
nīlagrīvāḥ śitikaṇṭhāḥ śarvā adhaḥ kṣamācarāḥ .
teṣāgͫ sahasrayojane'va dhanvāni tanmasi .. 57..
Meaning:-
This verse is a prayer to the Rudras who roam the earth, described as "nīlagrīvāḥ" (blue-necked) and "śitikaṇṭhāḥ" (white-throated), epitomizing their fierce yet divine nature. The devotee refers to them as "Śarvā," a form of Lord Shiva, who moves upon the earth below. The prayer requests that the bows of these Rudras be placed far away, at a distance of a thousand yojanas, symbolizing a plea for protection and peace, asking them to keep their weapons away and spare the devotee from harm.
