Chapter 5, Mantra 56 IAST form
nīlagrīvāḥ śitikaṇṭhā divagͫ rudrā upaśritāḥ .
teṣāgͫ sahasrayojane'va dhanvāni tanmasi .. 56..
Meaning:-
This verse is a prayer to the Rudras who reside in the heavens, described as having blue necks ("nīlagrīvāḥ") and white throats ("śitikaṇṭhāḥ"), referencing Lord Shiva’s appearance. The devotee requests that the bows of these Rudras, who dwell in the celestial realm, be placed far away, at a distance of a thousand yojanas. This plea for peace seeks protection from their potential harm, asking Rudra to turn his weapons away, ensuring the devotee remains safe and unharmed.
