असंख्याता सहस्राणि ये रुद्रा अधि भूम्याम् ।
तेषाꣳ सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि ॥ ५४॥
Chapter 5, Mantra 54 IAST form
asaṃkhyātā sahasrāṇi ye rudrā adhi bhūmyām .
teṣāgͫ sahasrayojane'va dhanvāni tanmasi .. 54..
Meaning:-
This verse is a prayer to Lord Rudra (Shiva), acknowledging the countless Rudras who exist on the earth. The devotee, in their humility, requests that the bows of these Rudras be placed far away, at a distance of a thousand yojanas (a large measure of distance), symbolically asking for protection from their potential harm. It is a plea for peace and safety, asking Rudra to keep his powerful weapons away from the devotee and the world.
