द्रापे अन्धसस्पते दरिद्रं नीललोहित ।
आसां प्रजानामेषां पशूनां मा भेर्मा रोङ्भो च नः किञ्चनाममत् ॥ ४७॥
Chapter 5, Mantra 47 IAST form
drāpe andhasaspate daridraṃ nīlalohita .
āsāṃ prajānāmeṣāṃ paśūnāṃ mā bhermā roṅbho ca naḥ kiñcanāmamat .. 47..
Meaning:-
This verse from the Sri Rudram in the Yajurveda is a prayer addressed to Lord Rudra (Shiva), asking for his protection and blessings. The devotee calls upon Rudra, referring to him as "Drapa" (the giver of food or sustenance) and "Andhasaspate" (lord of nourishment). The prayer beseeches Rudra, who is also called "Daridra" (destroyer of poverty) and "Neelalohita" (the one who is blue and red, symbolizing his dual nature as both compassionate and fierce), to protect the people and their livestock. The devotee implores Rudra to ensure that no harm comes to the people or their animals and to shield them from fear and anxiety.
