HARMONIOUS SYMBIOSIS
HARMONIOUS SYMBIOSIS
Rudi Fielitz interpreted the natural structures present in a trunk. He cut into bark and wood with a chainsaw and finer instruments. This resulted in abstract shapes and silhouettes of people, animals, and mythical creatures that can be more guessed at than recognized, leaving free space for individual interpretations. Breakthroughs in the wood were sealed with thick, colored glass. Surfaces were defined and emphasized with shiny metallic colors in gold, silver, bronze, blue and, above all, bright copper green. One of the images received a three-dimensional, spherical attachment made of stainless steel, with which Fielitz brought in one of his main artistic theme: the infinity of the cosmos.
old tree
It was gnarled, rotten, already hollow inside. The old tree had dominated the center for decades
becoming living Art
For this to happen, the tree had to undergo a transformation. Dead nature and creative design should become living art. Shaping this transformation was the right task for Rudi Fielitz
Rudi Fielitz does not accept genre boundaries. He is at home in many artistic techniques, especially painting, sculpture, glass design, readymade and lighting design. Materials from nature - especially trunks of old trees - have often been the starting point for his creative work. Fielitz works with colors, metal, colored glass and light, among other things. In his hands, all design elements form an expressive combination.
The focus was on light and its effect - one of the general themes of art anyway
Five artworks were created, which came together to form a complete work under the title “Harmonious Symbiosis”.

Natural daylight changes constantly with the movement of the sun, the changing weather and seasons.
Daylight hits the five artworks in a different and new way over and over again. That's why the wooden structures, the colored surfaces and the colorful glass always create new views and always create new images and new impressions.
This is how art stays alive.
At night, the metallic surfaces reflect the artificial ambient light. For the effect in the dark, lamps are positioned in the hollow interior of the wood, which catch the colored glass behind and radiate the light upwards, so that the images themselves glow at night.

The light during the day and at night is, in addition to the material and design, the third artistic element that contributes equally to the "Harmonious Symbiosis" of the entire work and makes it perfect.
