The Open Font License (OFL) is maintained by SIL International. It attempts to be a compromise between the values of the free software and typeface design communities. It is used for almost all open source font projects, including those by Adobe, Google and Mozilla.

Rubik is a humanist sans serif with a neutral tone and minimal calligraphic details. Its slightly rounded corners make it inviting to read, but it is minimal enough to blend into the background. Compared to Nunito, a similar font we covered previously, Rubik is much more neutral and toned down.

My favorite one is the Rubik Glitch, which is Rubik designed with a glitch motion. I think Rubik Glitch is an exciting option for videos or animated gifs. Rubik Paddles and Rubik Microbe are attention-catching with their illustrative details.

I think you'll need to have a "name" for each font you're referencing. You may need to supply a source for the fonts that aren't web standard. My customizations seem to be working. Here's what I have:

Did you use them in the style section of theme.json. I think you have to apply them in the style section for the blocks you want. I think before when you add them in settings and they would show up in the block as a drop-down and you could apply that font family. But, It was removed for some reason. I think to use them now you need to add them in the style section.

It been a while since I was playing with it. I know originally if you added fonts at the global and block level you would get a drop down menu allowing you to choice a font family. There were a few tutorials which demonstrated it. I played with it but was only able to get it to work for work block. But, that was removed.

When you create a global in the settings it creates a variable you can use in the style section. I was never able to get it to work correctly at the global settings or block level settings. I was able to apply the fonts by styling them in the style secretion. But, I never was able to do it in the settings section. I seen a message from someone on the development team saying it had been removed because of problems.

I have added a few more options to already demonstrate the full production use with separate smaller font files for different unicode ranges, font styles, and font weights. WordPress will automatically only load the required font files in the frontend if you specify those values correctly.

Is there a way to use different fonts in your body text when publishing a chapter? I'm mostly interested in the "Glitch effect" (Currently using "Rubik Glitch" on Google Doc) and I wasn't sure if it would appear correctly.

Reaction from the typophiles. Sans Papier (2007, Umbrella Type, Veer) is a halftone and paper-inspired experimental concoction. Oscilloscope (2007) is a typeface in which the oultlines seem to be electrified---he calls it Filtered licks of electric, programmatic arcs. Crafted code, coded nodes, amphatic wave forming calm storming sparks. Oscilloscope is three juicy bolts of blue-volted love. In 2018, Brody Associates announced their custom font, TCCC Unity, for Coca Cola. It was jointly designed by Neville Brody and Luke Prowse. At NaN, he released the 10-style monospaced experimental serif family Nan Weiss (2020). Typefaces from 2021: NaN Holo (

A modular type scale consists of a baseline font size and proportionally smaller and larger font sizes. Traditionally, design systems used static type scales, where each step has a fixed font size at every viewport width.

By contrast, in a fluid type scale, each modular step has a minimum, maximum, and variable font size. We can leverage CSS clamp and viewport width (vw) units to generate a set of font size variables that scale linearly between their minimum and maximum sizes, with mathematical precision. ff782bc1db
