A game design document (GDD) for a survival horror game called Rubicon Dipping.
My goal with this piece was to author a document for a project that combined my love of Atlantic Canada, (mecha) anime, and survival horror. I was inspired by my trip to Halifax in May 2024 and then-recent playthroughs of survival horror titles like Crow Country, Alisa, and the 2002 remake of Resident Evil. This endeavor taught me to review GDDs for released titles (e.g. Silent Hill 2, Grim Fandango, Planescape: Torment) and use them as references for crafting a comprehensive document.
I had to factor in and flesh out the following aspects of game development while penning the GDD:

Gameplay
Art Style
Sound Design
User Interface
Level Design
Throughout the document, I mention different IPs from which Rubicon Dipping would draw inspiration. This includes using pictures from said IPs.
