Week of January 29th - Metro Local Route 161
The 161 is a route that runs from Canoga Station to Thousand Oaks via Canoga & Agoura. The 161 is the only route that serves Ventura County, connecting VCTC (formerly VISTA), and Thousand Oaks Transit.

Week of February 5th - Metro Local Route 20
The 20 is a route that runs from Downtown LA to Santa Monica via Wilshire. The 20 ends in Westwood during the day, and extends to Santa Monica during the late night hours. It also had 4 branch lines: 21, 22, 320 & 322

Week of February 13th - Metro Local Route 265
The 265 is a route that runs from Pico Rivera to Lakewood via Paramount. The 265 used to interline with the 275 up until December 2005. Did you know that the 265 went further north to the Montebello Town Center? That's true, as it went there from December 2005 up until June 2007.

Week of February 20th - LADOT Commuter Express 439
The 439 is a route that runs from Downtown LA to El Segundo via Harbor Transitway, I-105 & Douglas. The 439 originally ran as a Metro Route that went as far south as Redondo Beach. The original route discontinued in June 2012, as a result of the Metro Expo Line.

Week of February 26th - The Genesis Invitational Shuttle
The Genesis Invitational Shuttle is a shuttle bus route that runs from Santa Monica to Brentwood via San Vicente & Allenford. The shuttle service operates when the Genesis Invitational is in session. The shuttle service is known to cover a portion of the former Metro Bus Line 22 west of 26th Street in Santa Monica.

Week of March 4th - NCTD Breeze Rapid 350
The 350 is a route that runs from Escondido Transit Center to Del Lago Station via Escondido Blvd & Bear Valley. The 350 is the only known Breeze Rapid in existence, and connect with two other rapids operated by San Diego MTS, which includes the 235 & 280.

Week of March 11th - Art Night Pasadena Shuttles
The Art Night Pasadena Shuttles are a series of shuttle routes that run throughout Pasadena. The service usually happens in March & October (usually on the second Friday) when Art Night Pasadena is in session. It consists of 4 shuttles: Central, East, North & Northwest. It also had two other routes that once existed: Mid-City & South.

Week of March 18th - Metro Local Line 79
The 79 was a route that ran from Arcadia to Downtown LA via Huntington & Mission. The 79 used to have a limited route, the 379, that served limited stops along the 79. The route was renumbered as the 179 in December 2021. As a result, it was shortened to Rose Hill Transit Center.

Week of March 25th - Metro Local Route 222
The 222 is a route that runs from Sunland to Hollywood via Hollywood Way & Cahuenga. The 222 once ran as far north as Sunland from June 2014 to June 2021. This was one of the routes that had complaints following Phase 2 of NextGen, as there were passenger requests to connect with the 152, which resulted in a 622 shuttle service, before being merged with the 222 in September 2021.

Week of April 8th - Metro Local Route 240
The 240 is a route that runs from Northridge to Universal City via Reseda & Ventura. The 240 originally ran from September 1986 to June 1995 via Reseda ONLY, which would later become the 522, and extend to Downtown LA later in September 1995, making it the only 500-series route to serve the area. The 240 later returned in June 2000, as a result of the extension of the Red Line to North Hollywood

Week of April 15th - Metro Local Route 55
The 55 is a route that runs from Downtown LA to Willowbrook via Compton. The 55 went down as far south as Wilmington before it was shortened to Willowbrook in June 1990. It also had a limited route, the 355, which ran from December 2006 to December 2020

Week of April 22nd - Riverside Transit Agency Route 16
The 16 is a route that runs from UC Riverside to Moreno Valley via Sycamore Canyon & Day. The 16 is one of the more frequent bus services in Western Riverside County alongside the 1 & 19. Did you know that the 16 interlines with the 19 at Moreno Valley Mall?

Week of April 29th - Long Beach Transit Route 8
The 8 is a route that runs from Carson to Wardlow Station via 223rd Street. The 8 is one of the four Long Beach Transit routes to serve the City of Carson. This service was introduced in September 2021 as a replacement for the Carson Circuit, which has since been restored.

Week of May 6th - Museums of the Arroyo Shuttle
The Museums of the Arroyo Shuttle is a shuttle service that runs from the Gamble House in Pasadena to Heritage Square. The shuttle service had two routes before being merged in 2023, Pasadena & Highland Park Lines. The Pasadena Route would operate School Buses, while the Highland Park Route would operate luxury cutaways (though it was upgraded to a School Bus for 2022 due to COVID-19). In 2023, the two shuttles were merged into one route, and changed to cutaways. For 2024, a direct service was added between the Gamble House & Heritage Square for the first two hours, and better known as the Museums of the Arroyo Express, which ran through the Arroyo Seco Pkwy.

Week of May 13th - Metro Local Line 660
The 660 is a route that runs from Altadena to Pasadena via North Fair Oaks Avenue. The 660 was introduced in December 2021, replacing the remaining segment of the 260. This service runs every 30 minutes, every day.

Week of May 20th - Metro Local Line 686
The 686 is a route that runs from Altadena to Pasadena via Allen & Colorado. The 686 was originally numbered as the 401, and went as far south to Downtown LA before the opening of the Gold Line. The 686 also ran alongside the 687 between Paseo Colorado & Fillmore Station. It has been confirmed in the April 2024 Service Agenda that the 686 will be merged with the 267 in June 2024.

Week of May 27th - LA Fleet Week Shuttle
The LA Fleet Week Shuttle is a series of shuttle routes that run from 22nd Street at LA Waterfront to the Battleship USS Iowa. Three bus routes operate the service for fleet week, which include the Parking Shuttle, Trolley & Ship Shuttle. The Parking Shuttle operates from 22nd Street to Battleship USS Iowa outside Harbor Blvd, the Trolley operates from those two same locations with additional stops on 6th & 7th Streets, as well as Harbor @ 22nd, and the Ship Shuttle operates from an active duty ship to Battleship USS Iowa inside the expo. The Parking & Ship shuttles are operated by TSU, Tourcoach (Ship Only) or Transportation Concepts (Parking Only), while the Trolley Service is operated by the San Pedro Trolley. Both services operate on Fleet Week days during the Memorial Day Weekend.

Week of June 3rd - Metro Local Line 217
The 217 is a route that runs from Los Feliz to La Cienega / Jefferson E Line via Hollywood & Fairfax. The 217 originally ran from Hollywood to West LA Transit Center, and used to interline with the 1. The 217 would eventually end at Vermont until June 2011, which would shorten back to Hollywood again until June 2021, which would revert this change. It used to go as far south as Howard Hughes Center.
Shown here is 1900 on the 217, making its layover at Prospect & Vermont to begin its southbound trip to the E Line. This bus has been fully repaired, after suffering a crash in Huntington Park while on the 251.
Week of June 10th - Metro Local Line 224
The 224 is a route that runs from Olive View to Universal City via San Fernando & Lankershim. The 224 replaced the 94 on San Fernando & 166 on Lankershim. The 224 did go to Olive View until June 2021 when it was shortened to Sylmar, later reversed in October 2022.

Week of June 17th - Hollywood Bowl Shuttle 657
The 657 is a seasonal shuttle route that runs from the Torrance Transit Center to Hollywood Bowl via I-110. This shuttle service operates during the Hollywood Bowl Season, and used to begin at Charles H Wilson Park. This route used to be operated by LA Metro until the 2009-2010 season, which eventually transferred operations to charter companies.

Week of June 24th - Metro Local Line 35
The 35 is a route that runs from Downtown LA to Washington / Fairfax via Washington. The 35 replaced the 68 on Washington in December 2007, and the 335 replaced the 368 for limited service before being discontinued in June 2011.

Week of July 1st - Foothill Transit Line 280
The 280 is a route that runs from Azusa to Puente Hills Mall via Azusa. The 280 was one of many routes transferred from the SCRTD to become Foothill Transit in the San Gabriel Valley. Judging by research, this route would have been transferred in the Early 1990's.

Week of July 8th - Metro Local Line 501
The 501 is a route that runs from Pasadena to North Hollywood via CA-134. The 501 was introduced in March 2016 to easily connect passengers between the San Fernando Valley & the Gold Line. This route was under TransDev (formerly Veolia) until June 2024, when it was transferred to Division 15 out of Sun Valley.

Week of July 15th - Hollywood Bowl Shuttle Line 668
The 668 is a route that runs from Ventura Blvd to Hollywood Bowl via the Cahuenga Pass. The 668 is one of the 4 Bowl Bus Shuttle routes that serve closer to the bowl, and this route accepts TAP Cards. The service is free with TAP Card, but travel must have occurred within two hours since the fare has been deducted on Metro Bus or Rail, otherwise it is $6 for LA-Phil events, or $10 for lease events, both round-trip fare.

Week of July 29th - Charter Oak / Duarte Beach Bus
The Charter Oak / Duarte Beach Bus is a LA County Beach Bus Route that runs from Charter Oak to Santa Monica, also serving the unincorporated part of Duarte. The Charter Oak / Duarte Beach Bus is one of several seasonal Beach Bus routes that operate during the summer months, with three stops at Cienega / Sunflower, Charter Oak Park, and Pamela Park. The route operates on Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays.

Week of August 5th - Metro Rapid Line 754
The 754 is a route that runs from Hollywood to Athens via Vermont. The 754 was introduced in December 2002, replacing the 354, and is a Rapid service for the 204. The 754 is one of the three Rapids to survive during NextGen, the others being the 720 & 761.

Week of August 12th - Metro Local Line 260
The 260 is a route that runs from Pasadena to Artesia Station via Fair Oaks & Atlantic. The 260 used to go as far south as Downtown Long Beach until 1990, later shortened to Artesia Station in June 1995. The 260 used to travel on Los Robles until June 2003, when it was realigned to use Fair Oaks to replace the 483. The 260 used to have a limited route, the 361, later became the 762 in June 2008. The portion between North Long Beach & Downtown Long Beach was replaced by Long Beach Transit Line 6 (now 61), and the Los Robles portion was replaced by the 687 (now 662).

Week of August 26th - NCTD Breeze Line 356
The 356 is a loop route that runs via Quince St, Morning View Dr & Escondido Blvd, serving the Central Escondido area. This route in particular is one of the shortest NCTD routes in Escondido, and one of several shuttle routes in Escondido. Duration times are anywhere between 19 & 22 minutes.
Shown here is 2504 on the 356, ready to pick up passengers at the Escondido Transit Center in San Diego County. 2504 is a 2007 New Flyer C40LF, and can be found on weekdays operating on any bus route operated by the Escondido Yard. The Escondido Yard also operates the last remaining New Flyer D40LF's, which were built in Late-2000.
Week of September 2nd - Metro Local Line 256
The 256 is a route that runs from Sierra Madre Villa Station to Highland Park via Washington & Avenue 64. The 256 used to run between Altadena & Commerce before being realigned in Pasadena in June 2021, later shortened twice to Cal State LA & Highland Park in December 2021 & June 2023 respectively. In rare occasions, being a route that uses 31-foot NABI buses, a 40-foot New Flyer can appear on this route.
Shown here is 3123 on the 256 at York Blvd & Figueroa St in Highland Park, as it makes a right turn from Figueroa onto York. 3123 is one of the Ex-TransDev units, after the contract was expired in June 2024. Southland Transit now operates two Ex-TransDev routes (the 96 & 218).
Week of September 9th - Foothill Transit Line 486
The 486 is a route that runs from El Monte to Pomona via Amar. The 486 is one of several Foothill Transit routes originally operated by SCRTD. The 486 originally ended at Puente Hills Mall before being relocated to Cal Poly Pomona, then later extended to Pomona Transit Center. The 486 was one of the two routes originally launched with Fuel Cell buses.

Week of September 16th - Metro Local Line 94
The 94 is a route that runs from Downtown LA to North Hollywood via San Fernando & Magnolia. The 94 is one of the three routes that have a 200-series counterpart that began as early as 2007, the others being the 90 & 92 (since reverted back in 2013 & 2017 respectively). The 294 is their 200-series counterpart of the 94 that runs from Sylmar to Burbank. The 94 also did have a limited route, the 394, later upgraded as 794 in June 2008. The 394 did go as far as Olive View Medical Center before being replaced by the 224.

Week of September 23rd - LAX Metro Connector
The LAX Metro Connector is a route that runs from Aviation / LAX C Line Station to LAX via Aviation & Century. The Metro Connector is one of two routes that connect public transportation to the LAX Airport. Soon, the Metro Connector will be moved to serve the new LAX / Metro Transit Center in November 2024 (date may change).

Week of September 30th - Metro Local Line 96
The 96 is a route that runs from Downtown LA to Burbank via Riverside. The 96 is the only bus service that serves the LA Zoo, and went as far as Sherman Oaks (replacing the 97 and realigned from NoHo) until June 2011, in which that segment is now part of the 155. It has been confirmed that the 96 will be renumbered as the 296 in December 2024, in which at this point will begin & end at Lincoln / Cypress Station.

This route was originally operated by TransDev before it was transferred to Southland Transit in June 2024. Some drivers may deviate off the route by turning left on Alameda, and another left on Ord towards Hill St, since there are no bus stops between Main / Chavez & Ord / Broadway.
Week of October 7th - Long Beach Transit Route 141
The 141 is a route that runs from Artesia Station to Los Cerritos Center via Artesia. The 141 was formerly Metro Line 130 that used to run from Fullerton to Redondo Beach. The 130 was later truncated to Cerritos in December 2003, then later its western terminal was truncated to Artesia Station in June 2021. The 130 later became Long Beach Transit 141 in June 2022. The portion between Artesia Station & Redondo Beach is now Torrance Transit 13.

Week of October 14th - Simi Valley Transit Route 30
The 30 is a route that runs from Simi Valley Civic Center to Sinaloa Road via Cochran & Royal. The 30 is the most frequent service out of the three, as it runs every 30 minutes. The 30 was originally part of Routes A & B. The service operates Monday thru Saturday.
Shown here is 4534 on the 30 at Simi Valley Civic Center, ready to depart westbound to Sinaloa Road. The Simi Valley Civic Center is the major transfer point to all Simi Valley Transit services, as well as a nearby VCTC connection further south.
Week of October 21st - Metro G Line
The G Line is a busway route that runs from North Hollywood to Chatsworth. The G Line was formerly the Orange Line, and first ran to Warner Center. The route would later have a new branch to Chatsworth in 2012 before the Warner Center portion was cut in June 2018, with that portion now part of the 601. The G Line uses the proof-of-payment method, so fare is paid at the station, and buses do not have fareboxes onboard. The route is also cashless, as a TAP Card is required. Fares can be paid with cash or card at a TAP Vending Machine. The route was introduced in October 2005.

Week of October 28th - Metro J Line
The J Line is a series of two bus routes (originally one) that run from El Monte to San Pedro via El Monte Busway & Harbor Transitway. The J Line (originally the Silver Line) was introduced in December 2009, and ran from El Monte to Artesia Transit Center (now Harbor Gateway Transit Center in 2012). The J Line would later be extended to San Pedro in December 2015 (replacing the 450), and now feature two branches (the 910 & 950X). The 910 is the original J Line, while 950X ran rush hours only (later 7-day and renamed 950 in 2017). The J Line uses 45-foot buses manufactured by NABI (North American Bus Industries), or 40-foot electric buses from BYD.

Week of November 11th - Metro Local Line 177
The 177 is a route that runs from CalTech to JPL via Del Mar & I-210. The 177 used to run as far west as Glendale Galleria, and as far east as City of Hope in Duarte. This is one of the routes originally operated by TransDev before being transferred to MV in June 2024. The 177 only operates during rush hour on weekdays, and will soon be transferred to Pasadena Transit as their new Route 53 beginning in December 2024.

Week of November 18th - Metro Local Line 70
The 70 is a route that runs from Downtown LA to El Monte via Cesar E Chavez and Garvey. The 70 used to operate via Marengo St and Ramona Blvd before being realigned in June 2021, replacing the 68. The 70 also had a limited route, the 370, before it was upgraded as the 770 in December 2007. The 770 was discontinued in June 2021, and the 70 now follows the old 770 routing (until June 2022 when westbound trips ended at Grand & Venice). The 70 also had an alternate route, 70A, that used 71 routing via Wabash.

Week of November 25th - Metro Local Line 152
The 152 is a route that runs from North Hollywood to West Hills via Roscoe. The 152 used to run from Woodland Hills to as far east as Burbank. The route between North Hollywood & Burbank was discontinued in December 2006, and was replaced by the 155 & 224. The route also ran along Vineland until June 2021, when the route was realigned via Lankershim, as well as shortening the route to Topanga Canyon, later extended to West Hills Medical Center in September 2021. The 152 also had a branch line, the 153 that ran most of the 152 routing except serving San Fernando Rd instead of Glenoaks, and had a limited route, 353 (originally the 418 until June 2005), which ran through Lankershim. The 153 ran from December 2006 to December 2009, and the 353 was discontinued in December 2020. The Vineland portion is now part of the 90 and 162.

Week of December 2nd - Metro Local Line 76
The 76 is a route that runs from El Monte to Downtown LA via Valley. The 76 had a few major changes throughout the years since the Great Renumbering of 1983. The 76 had a limited route that ran from December 2004 to December 2007, which was the 376 that ran via most of the route except in El Monte where it operated via Santa Anita instead of Tyler. The 76 also had an alternate route, 76A, which did the same routing as the 376 until December 2020, when the 76 was realigned from Tyler to Santa Anita in El Monte. The 76 began serving the Little Tokyo / Arts District Station in June 2024. Express trips along the route are done via the Metro J Line, as well as the Foothill Transit Silver Streak.

Week of December 9th - Rose Bowl Shuttle Line 686
The Rose Bowl Shuttle is a shuttle route that runs from the Parsons Lot to the Rose Bowl via Fair Oaks & Hammond. The Rose Bowl Shuttle is numbered 686, and operates on major event days. Two different bus companies operate the service depending on the days of operation. Foothill Transit operates the service if the event is on a Saturday, while LA Charter Bus Lines operates the service for events that take place at all other times (mostly on a Sunday or Friday). This shuttle service mostly operates during UCLA Football Game Days at the Rose Bowl, or any major event at the Brookside at Rose Bowl. The service also runs for the Rose Bowl Game, as well as the Rose Bowl Half Marathon. Fare is free for most events, but select events (specifically large concerts) may require a shuttle ticket.

Week of December 23rd - Metro Local Line 10
The 10 is a route that runs from Downtown LA to West Hollywood via Temple & Melrose. The 10 is one of several routes that interline with another route. The 10 barely had changes over the years, and interlines with the 48. The route is operated by Divisions 2 & 7. The 10 used to have 24-hour service until June 2021, operating between West Hollywood & Vermont / Beverly.

Week of December 30th - Pasadena Transit Route 33
The 33 is a route that runs from Sierra Madre Villa Station to Highland Park via Washington & Avenue 64. The 33 is formerly Metro Local Line 256, which was recently discontinued on December 15th, 2024. The 33 is notable for being the first Pasadena Transit bus line to enter the Los Angeles city limits, as well as one of the two routes to be branded as Pasadena Transit and not the former Pasadena ARTS. This is the first time Pasadena Transit has operated through the Colorado Street Bridge since 2009, when the former 70 used to operate through the bridge until it was discontinued. The 70 was introduced in February 2005.
