'A Bridge of Amity, Cordiality, and Friendship'
The RTI Listeners Club of Bangladesh is a unique and dedicated community that brings together radio enthusiasts from across Bangladesh who share a passion for Radio Taiwan International (RTI). It was founded with a vision to foster a strong and enduring friendship between Bangladesh and Taiwan.
Established on February 21, 2006, this initiative came to life following a significant meeting between passionate Bangladeshi listeners and the Chairman of Radio Taiwan International (RTI), Mr. Feng Jeng Lin, along with Carlson Huang of RTI’s English service.
Under the leadership of Ashik Eqbal Tokon, the club was officially inaugurated on March 26, 2006, and has since grown into a robust and dynamic community.
The primary goal of the RTI Listeners Club of Bangladesh is to create a "Bridge of Amity, Cordiality, and Friendship" between Bangladesh and Taiwan. This goal is pursued by promoting mutual understanding and cultural exchange through the medium of radio, ensuring that the voice of Taiwan reaches the homes and hearts of people in Bangladesh.
The objectives of the RTI Listeners Club of Bangladesh are multifaceted and designed to foster a strong connection between the listeners in Bangladesh and RTI:
Establishing Firm Friendship: To nurture a lasting friendship between Taiwan and Bangladesh, enhancing cultural and social ties.
Promoting RTI across Bangladesh: The club strives to increase RTI's awareness and listenership by raising awareness about the station’s diverse programs and reliable news coverage, distributing program guides, sharing frequency updates, and encouraging feedback from listeners.
Supporting RTI Fans in Bangladesh: To provide a supportive community for RTI fans in Bangladesh, offering resources such as program guides, frequency updates, and event information to help RTI fans stay connected and informed about the latest programs and activities. We strive to create a supportive network for RTI enthusiasts.
Organizing Events: To arrange annual listener meets and other events that foster camaraderie and engagement among members.
Fostering Cultural Exchange: The club aims to deepen understanding of Taiwanese culture through various events and activities.
Monitoring Broadcasts: To monitor RTI frequencies and provide constructive feedback to help improve the quality of broadcasts. Members actively monitor RTI regular frequencies and suggest identifying the best frequencies from time to time for improvements to enhance the quality of broadcasts.
Facilitating Communication: The club once operated a dedicated post box for RTI in Bangladesh, making it easier for listeners to send their feedback and queries.
Newsletter Publication: The club publishes a newsletter, "Echoes of Amity: RTI LCB Connection," which includes program highlights, frequency guides, and updates on club activities. This newsletter serves as a vital link between RTI and its Bangladeshi listeners.
