Hello, my name is Charlotte Nutting
I am a PhD research student.
I am also a registered Learning Disability Nurse and Social Worker in England.
I study at Sheffield Hallam University in England.
I also study at La Trobe University in Australia.

This research project is about Radiotherapy and people who have a Learning Disability and cancer.
‘Radiotherapy’ is a treatment that is used to treat cancer. It uses strong x-rays to kill cancer cells.
The project will develop a framework about the factors that lead to:
positive Radiotherapy experiences for people with Learning Disabilities, and the people who support them.
During the project I will:
interview people who live in England.
interview people who live in Metropolitan Melbourne in Australia.
Interviews with people with Learning Disabilities who have had or have cancer, and are aged 18 or older, will explore:
how they were involved in making the decision to have or not have Radiotherapy.
their experiences of Radiotherapy.
how they were supported after Radiotherapy.
Interviews with family members, paid carers and professionals will explore:
their experiences supporting people who have Learning Disabilities and cancer with Radiotherapy.
This study has been checked and approved in England by the London - Camberwell St Giles Research Ethics Committee with reference number 23/LO/0736.
We are currently recruiting people in England to interviews.
