The latest version of R requires that UCRT is installed in Windows. Windows 10 and above has this by default but 8.1 does not. Follow the link here to fix this.

I've tried to reinstall Git and Rstudio and also reset the Rstudio setting, and successfully cloned a repo from GitHub. However, I the Git tub is not showing and the Terminal looks just like a Window Terminal (not like a Git Terminal). In the Global Options, my Git executable and SSH RSA key are showing up. My git version is 2.34.1.windows.1

However, even after I just cloned the project, when I went to the Project Options, "Version control system" was saying "None".

I was working well with my setup, but suddenly yesterday my Git tab was gone.

The only thing I can suspect is that my office computer was reconfigured to have the OneDrive folder as the default folder. But even then, I create a soft link from the folder where I have my ssh key to the new HOME folder.

I hope you can help me with this bizarre issue.

I remembered that there were reports in the past of some anti-virus software (including Windows Defender) causing freezes and extreme slowness in previous versions of RStudio:

RStudio suddenly slow processing RStudio IDE Having the same problem. It seems the antimalware service executable windows defender antivirus service can stop RStudio from working (save button non-responsive in RStudio - couldn't even save or shut down RStudio - thankfully I could copy and paste my code to somewhere else but environment was lost) I will try adding to windows defender exclusions.

is there anyone here with first-hand experience of using Rstudio on a windows ARM machine?

If rumors will be confirmed, I know I'll be tempted by the new Surface Pro 9 ARM but I'm afraid I could get into a lot of troubles. I'll have to use that machine also to run RStudio. Since there are no native versions, emulation will have do work reliable enough. I'm more concerned about reliability and compatibility issues than performance. I'm not planning on running anything too heavy (and I can usually wait a minute) so anything comparable with an intel 9th or 10th gen would be just great. Anyone who has tried Rstudio on winARM and is willing to share his/her experience?

This is my first request for help, hopefully I can communicate it well. R Studio won't open on my desktop running windows 10 and r 3.6. A small window appears above the dock, but it won't open. I tried everything I found on help pages including cntrl click and running as software, removing .Rprofile, .Renviron, and .RData files. I uninstalled and reinstalled both R and R Studio. My log file is now empty. Does anyone have any recommendations for how I can get R Studio working again?

That's my current workflowfor accessing anything on SQL Server. I can access Redshift (postgres driver) from Mac, but I have not figured out how to get the combination of ODBC windows auth working right in Mac at all.

My laptop has the windows 10 system and I have installed the subsystem Ubuntu. I have installed Rstudio but when I run it "QXcbConnection: Could not connect to display Aborted (core dumped)" will be shown. Could anyone tell me how can I run Rstudio on my Linux subsystem? Thank you

Individual source files can also be opened in their own window, rather than only within the Source pane. Source windows allow you to edit files outside the main RStudio window. This is useful for splitting your work among multiple monitors, or devoting more space to your editor.
