Aims and Theme of the Conference
The Research School of Population Health (RSPH) will hold its annual Student Conference on the 11th of September 2019 with the theme “Think win-win for health and wellbeing”. The conference, which is an interdisciplinary platform for RSPH students to present their research and its applications, will be held in the Barton Theatre in Crawford School.
The presenters in the conference will be selected from RSPH students (PhD, MPH, MAE, Honours) whose area of research include epidemiology, population health, mental health, aging, and primary care, etc. The presenters will be divided in terms of length of presentation: a 3-minute or a 10-minute oral presentation. The presenters are highly encouraged to ask for feedback from their audience. All presenters will receive a certificate from the conference.
The conference, which will start 9:30am, will have free morning tea and lunch to all registered attendees. Through this conference, the organizer aims to promote collaboration and communication within the RSPH community and to the whole Australian National University (ANU). The conference provides a supportive environment that hopes to enable students to participate and learn from each other’s experiences for the improvement of health and wellbeing through quality research.
Topics
Topics for submission include, but are not limited to, the following: epidemiology, population health, mental health, aging, primary care, health policy and nutrition, as well as, research topic relating to health system, health communication, global health and health information technology. The conference also welcomes any other public health research.
Either original research or review studies can be submitted to the RSPH student conference. This conference is aimed to encourage students to present their works, regardless of the stage of completion (papers in progress or fully completed) to get feedbacks on their ongoing research or research in future from broader RSPH communities with diverse perspectives.
Presentation and format requirements
3-minute oral presentations, will be limited to 3 minutes with 1 PowerPoint slide, followed by a 3-minute discussion or questions from audiences.
10-minute oral presentations, - will be limited to 10 minutes presentations, followed by a 5-minute discussion or questions from audiences.
Important Dates for Abstract Submission
· Start: 31th July 2019
· Deadline: 25th August 2019
· Notification of submission outcomes will be sent out via email on 28th August 2019.
