Rylan Malcolm is an indie American filmmaker from North Carolina. He is an Actor, VA, and owner of RSM Films.
Rylan Shay Malcolm was born on October 17, 2010, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, being the son of a Marine.
Rylan embarked on his journey in content creation by establishing the YouTube channel "Rylan Gameboy" on February 3, 2019. Initially focused on gaming content, Rylan gained a small following for his videos. In 2020, he rebranded the channel to "SuperRylanPlush," where he explored his passion for skit-based content using plush characters from his Nintendo and Five Nights at Freddy's collections. These skit-based videos are the start of Rylan's passion for professional filmmaking.
In 2021, Rylan met Seth Gomolka, and their collaboration led to the creation of a game in Rec Room titled "Kidnapped by Ryvrking". The game showcased Rylan's burgeoning interest in game development and served as a catalyst for his exploration of storytelling in interactive mediums.
Rylan went to acting class at Jacksonville Performing Arts in 2023, and received the Foundation of Theatre certificate. However, Rylan himself believes being part of an active production is the best way to learn acting.
Inspired by his experiences in game development and fueled by a growing passion for filmmaking, Rylan conceived the idea for the film "My Missing Link", which was loosely based on the "Kidnapped by Ryvrking" game. This project marked a significant milestone in his creative journey and laid the foundation for the establishment of RSM Films, his independent filmmaking company.
Today, Rylan Malcolm continues to pursue his passion for storytelling as a writer and director. He is actively involved in the development of several film projects under the banner of RSM Films, with several, such as Checkmate, already being published. Rylan remains dedicated to exploring diverse narratives of cinematic storytelling.
