Gifted students will receive services during WIN time on every campus. WIN (What I Need) is a 60 minute block which occurs daily where student receive specific support based on their needs, including intervention and gifted services.
The CogAT is a cognitive abilities assessment that measures reasoning skills with different types of verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal questions. We screen every Roosevelt School District student in second grade during the first round of testing each school year. Additionally, there are 3 rounds of referral testing for Kindergarten through 8th grade students each school year.

Measures a child’s ability to remember and transform sequences of English words, to understand them and to make inferences and judgments about them.
Questions include: picture analogies, sentence completion, and picture classification.
Measures a child’s understanding and problem solving with numbers.
Questions include: number analogies, number puzzles, and number series.
Measures reasoning using pictures and geometric shapes.
Questions include: figure matrices, paper folding, and figure classification.
