Ms Danielle Hector is a research assistant attached to the Trinidad and Tobago Cyber Security Incident Response Team under the Ministry of National Security. A graduate of the University of the West Indies with a BSc in Political Science and a double minor in Criminology and Psychology, she has aided the unit in gathering research, reviewing policies, conducting gap and vulnerability assessments, and contributing to the region's education and awareness workshops. She has completed many courses within the field, received multiple certifications and aspires to pursue her Master’s Degree in Cyber Security. She advocates for women in cyber security/ICT and believes that if men can do it, so can women. Her goal as a young professional is to aid in the development of digital transformation within her country and encourage others to practice good cyber hygiene
Presenters, Ms Kareshma Ragoonathsingh and Ms Danielle Hector aim to inform students about the current cyber threats, how to avoid being a victim of a cyber attack, how to improve one’s cyber hygiene as well as guide students on how to get into the field of cybersecurity and current available scholarships.
