Kathy Preston-Smart 

Mrs. Kathy Smart-Preston born and raised in the beautiful islands of Trinidad and Tobago.  She migrated to the United States 30 years ago, and has been an IT professional for almost as many years.  

She began her IT career as a COBOL and “C” programmer within the insurance industry.  Over time she progressed through other programming languages.  Her love of coaching and mentoring allowed her to moved naturally into more leadership and management roles.  She worked as an IT consultant for a number of years, traveling to various American states for top US companies.  

The combination of technical and leadership experience proved to be a valuable blend in advancing her career.  She now heads the IT department for a finance-based non-profit organization.  

Along with her technical side, Mrs. Smart-Preston is fluent in French.  She has always had a passion for the language and culture.  She is also an avid ballroom dancer, loves to travel internationally, and is an expert in finding silver linings!
