Digital Skills for Life - Micro-Talk Session
This micro-talk session will focus on the importance of developing digital skills in the 21st century. Ten STEM Girls from the Kingston Technical High School will be invited to the UNESCO Office, in commemoration of the International Girls in ICT Day. The session will seek to promote a greater appreciation for the importance of ICT and how it can shape their future, the importance of developing digital skills and literacy. By having this conversation UNESCO is encouraging these and other girls to explore the different opportunities presented by ICT, for better career prospects, and increasing their wellbeing.
Furthermore, by promoting digital skills, we aim to bridge the gender gap in the tech industry, where women are underrepresented and as such break the barriers towards making technology a more inclusive field.
