Christopher Francique

CARICOM DIGITAL SKILLS TASK FORCE

Christopher Francique is a multi-disciplinary individual within the domain of higher education for the past 12+ years. His expertise spans two disciplines: economics & educational technology. His experience includes: lecturing, academic administration & leadership, technical development, and economic research.

Having taught fulltime in academia for seven years in all delivery modalities (face-to-face, blended and fully online), Mr. Francique pivoted to adjunct lecturing while simultaneously entering the domain of educational technology and eLearning as a full-time instructional design specialist. Currently, he functions as the Manager of the Instructional Support and Course Re-Design sub-unit of the Teaching, Learning and Instructional Support Unit, at the University of Trinidad & Tobago. There he manages a team of instructional design and technology personnel that support the faculty and students, as they utilize the teaching and learning resources and frameworks at UTT. 

Over his career Mr. Francique has served on a wide range of committees. Presently, he functions as a member of the National Advisory Council for Education, a committee of the Ministry of Education, Trinidad and Tobago. There he serves as a general committee member, as well as the lead of the Digital Transformation sub-committee. Also, he is a member of a “Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee” for EDUCAUSE, a US-based, internationally recognized IT/Edtech-related nonprofit organization. In closing, Mr. Francique’s areas of expertise and interest are eLearning, Multimedia Learning, Adaptive Learning, Instructional Design, Instructional Technologies, Multimedia Content Creation, Digital Competence in Education and Sustainable Economic Development.
