The Randy’s Ritual Ride Gravel Series challenges riders to test themselves against the variety of terrain the state of Nebraska has to offer. Named in honor of one of Nebraska’s greatest gravel racers, Randy Gibson, who was tragically killed by a drunk driver while out on a ride in September 2017. Randy was a stalwart participant and supporter of the gravel community. He embodied the best characteristics of the discipline and a human being.
His spirit will continue inspiring others on their own ritual rides.

Gravel is growing in popularity and so are we.
For 2020 we have made some adjustments to how we score the series to put further emphasis on participation and volunteering. We had great feedback last year on the podiums being very representative of the best of the gravel community, not just the fastest riders.
We encouraged all the events that are in the series to add a short distance course to allow new riders and families to participate. These short events of 25-30 miles can be completed in 2-3 hours by new/young cyclists and those riders who are fresh off the couch. Short courses may be the same challenge for these new riders as the longer courses are for seasoned experts. But we believe these events lower the barriers to participation and help grow our cycling community.
The series' signature event, the Trash Time Trial, is back. Starting in Lincoln at Saro Cider (18th &N). A short 5-10 mile group ride from Saro to the start of the Timed 1 mile gravel section. After everyone finishes the timed section riders collect trash along the route. Riders are scored on quantity of trash and placement on the timed section. Winners in each category of, fastest, most trash and overall (combined trash and speed placements). Trash weigh in and awards at Saro wrap up the event. For those unable to attend, points for the series can still be earned by doing trash collection at any series event. The event is supported by a grant from Keep Nebraska Beautiful.
In 2020 the series entry is free! Sign up any time until July 4th. Only those who are signed up will have points scored. Series finale is at Gravel World's. Everyone who signs up has a shot at climbing on stage at stepping up on the Gravel World's podium and some sweet prizes to boot.
