Proship/profic IS a real problem that is way too normalized and brings us horrible things like Rowan. Proshipping is the belief and thinking that no ship should be harassed no matter how controversial, this means they actively defend and are against the harassment of pedophile, incest, abusive ships etc. Profiction is the same but for fiction as a whole.

Proship communities are not safe spaces for minors, beyond the fact that the sexual topics discussed there are extreme and often topics not even accessible on normal pornographic websites, its the most unsafe thing in the world ever to have a community where adults and children discuss sexual topics with each other, that is grooming.

Rowan normalized this in his community, and for a good while he had seriously groomed his fans into it. During the last few days of his Ruffleland server there was an entire category for proshipping, comshipping darkshipping etc. Rowan was also openly part of Profic Party, a proship community on Twitter.

Young developing minds are influenced by the content they consume, viewing pornographic material at a young age damages your overall perception of sex and it will ruin your dopamine receptors. Just because someone is having bodily changes it doesn’t mean that their mind is mature enough to consume that type of content.

Rowan justified this with South Park screenshots of the characters in innapropiate situations.

South park isn't made with the intent of being inherenty sexual or to be used as fap material, he was making content that is meant to be pornographic. The show having inapporpriate things doesn't mean its supporting proshipping, fictional or not, its there for the story and comedy, and proshippers use this as a reason to get off to nasty porn. If you don't agree then you do not understand media at all.

This extends to his greater proship arguments in general, you can't just cherrypick moments in media that display topics without understanding the context those scenes where in. All the examples he provided (Weiners Out, Ike sleeping with his teacher, Jacking off in San Diego) are moments that are relevant to the plot in a comedic way, its not there to be a romanitization of those topics, and the fact that he and by extention other proshippers sit and look at it and think that it's trying to tell them that it's ok proves they are not mature enough to being watching these shows because they can't understand why they do the things they do. Its for comedy, and proshippers use those topics and themes for smut. The intent is completety different.

Of course, this doesn't just apply to South Park. It can apply to any other show too. South Park is used here because Rowan loved using it to justify his actions.
