Reverse, Reengineering and Value Addittion

Reverse engineering (RE) is a new concept that denotes the process of generating engineering design data from existing components. RE is used to describe the process in which product development follows a reverse order. It is also known as back engineering /backward engineering which is entirely different from forwarding engineering. Rather than the conventional production drawing as input, in RE the existing product is the starting point.
