Q: What kind of bridge is played at the RRBS?
A: The RRBS plays duplicate bridge.
Q: Is the RRBS sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL)?
A: The RRBS is working toward being sanctioned by the ACBL.
Q: Who is eligible to become a member of the RRBS?
A: All prospective members must be residents or qualified tenants of Robson Ranch. Additionally, they must satisfy a number of application requirements (e.g., agreement to the Code of Conduct), and pay required dues and fees. Guests are allowed to play in RRBS events under certain circumstances. Please click on the "Membership" tab, above, for more information.
Q: Do I need a bridge partner?
A: Yes, you need a bridge partner. However, if you do not have one, please send an email message to rrbridgesociety@gmail.com about how the RRBS can help you find a partner.
Q: I am a beginner or have not played bridge in many years. Are lessons available?
A: Yes, lessons are available, especially for beginners or those who want to refresh their skills; they are free. Also, bridge lessons might be required for some prospective players. The next set of lessons is scheduled to begin on October 25, 2022.
Q: What does it cost to play bridge at the RRBS?
A: An annual RRBS membership is $20.00. In addition, there is a fee for each event that is discounted for members. Special fees might be involved for other events (e.g., tournaments, luncheon play). Also, the RRBS seeks financial gifts to help ensure the continuing success of duplicate bridge and its players.
The money that is charged for dues and fees might seem considerable. However, it is costly to pay for equipment, materials, cards, boards, ACBL fees, and the like. Please know that the RRBS Board is committed to financial prudence.
