If you want true wireless bone conduction for swimming, outdoor safety, and seamless MP3 playback without a phone, choose RR SPORTS IP68; if you need professional studio-grade monitoring, deep bass, and 60-hour battery life for mixing or guitar practice, choose Yoidesu 5.4.
• RR SPORTS IP68: The standout strength is its IP68 waterproof rating allowing full submersion up to 2 meters, making it the only choice for swimmers and intense water sports; however, it lacks the deep, immersive bass and closed-back isolation required for critical audio mixing or quiet office environments.
• Yoidesu 5.4: This unit excels with its 40mm magnetic drivers delivering HiFi stereo sound and a massive 60-hour battery life perfect for long sessions, but it is an over-ear design that offers no water resistance and cannot be used while submerged.
• Who picks which: Choose the RR SPORTS IP68 if your primary use case involves physical activity in wet conditions or if you need to stay aware of your surroundings; pick the Yoidesu 5.4 if you are a musician, DJ, or remote worker prioritizing sound fidelity and all-day listening comfort.
The RR SPORTS IP68 is engineered specifically for people who refuse to compromise between hydration, safety, and audio. Its core identity revolves around the ability to withstand extreme environments. With an IP68 rating, these headphones can handle being submerged in up to 2 meters of water. This isn't just splash resistance; it is a full-proof seal designed for swimming marathons, heavy rain, or sweaty gym sessions where sweat and moisture would destroy standard electronics. The nano-hydrophobic coating mentioned in the specs ensures that internal components remain protected from water penetration, which is a non-negotiable feature for anyone training outdoors year-round.
For the professional or amateur athlete, the open-ear design is a game-changer. Unlike traditional earbuds that block out the world, this device uses bone conduction technology to deliver sound while keeping your ears completely open. This means you can hear your own breathing, the rhythm of your steps, and crucially, ambient traffic or warnings while still enjoying your playlist. The soft silicone construction ensures that even during long workouts, the fit remains secure and comfortable without causing ear fatigue. If you wear swim caps or goggles, the design accommodates them perfectly, solving a common pain point for triathletes and lap swimmers.

However, this product has clear limitations that dictate who should skip it. You must switch to the built-in 32GB MP3 player mode when diving into a pool. While this allows for storing up to 7,000 songs across various formats like MP3, WMA, WAV, and FLAC, it requires manual file transfer via the included magnetic cable. Furthermore, if you are looking for the "extra bass" associated with sealed, noise-canceling headphones, you will find the bone conduction approach lacks the visceral thump of a closed driver system. It is an excellent tool for movement and safety, but it is not a high-fidelity studio monitor.
In stark contrast, the Yoidesu 5.4 is built for the purist who values sonic accuracy and endurance above all else. This is a professional-grade studio monitor headset designed for those who need to hear every detail in their music, whether they are mixing tracks, recording vocals, or practicing guitar. The inclusion of 40mm magnetic drivers with a frequency response range of 20Hz to 20kHz provides a clarity that is essential for critical listening. Guitarists, in particular, will appreciate the tuning that eliminates muddy bass, allowing digital modeling amps and effects pedals to ring out with crystal-clear definition. It is the kind of equipment that helps professionals spot the subtle imperfections in a take that cheaper headphones might gloss over.
Battery life is another area where the Yoidesu 5.4 dominates. With an integrated 600mAh polymer lithium-ion battery, it offers up to 60 hours of continuous playback. This is a massive leap over the 7-hour limit found in most sport-focused earbuds. For a freelancer working from home, a student attending back-to-back online classes, or a musician practicing late into the night, knowing you won't run out of power mid-session is invaluable. The Bluetooth 5.4 chip ensures fast pairing within 1-3 seconds, maintaining a stable connection up to 10 meters away, which is more than sufficient for room-scale usage.
The physical design caters heavily to extended wear. The ear cups rotate 90 degrees, a feature critical for DJs who need to monitor one ear while keeping the other free for live cues. The memory foam cushions wrapped in skin-friendly protein leather reduce pressure points, ensuring that the 168-gram weight feels negligible even after hours of use. However, this is an over-ear, wired-first device (with wireless capability) that offers zero protection against water. If you plan to wear these in the shower, while jogging in the rain, or near any body of water, they are not suitable. They are strictly for controlled indoor environments where sound quality and longevity are the priority.
• Best for swimming and water sports → RR SPORTS IP68, as it is the only option here rated for 2-meter submersion and features a sealed design for aquatic activities.
• Best for battery life → Yoidesu 5.4, offering a massive 60 hours of playtime compared to the 7 hours of the RR SPORTS model.
• Best for sound isolation and monitoring → Yoidesu 5.4, with its closed-back design and 40mm drivers ideal for studio work and blocking distractions.
• Best for situational awareness → RR SPORTS IP68, since the open-ear bone conduction design lets you hear ambient noise while listening to audio.
• Best for musicians and DJs → Yoidesu 5.4, featuring rotating ear cups for single-ear monitoring and precise frequency response for mixing.
• Best for portability without a phone → RR SPORTS IP68, thanks to the built-in 32GB storage that holds thousands of songs independently of a mobile device.
• Best for long-form meetings → Yoidesu 5.4, provided the environment is dry, due to superior microphone clarity potential and all-day comfort for voice calls.
• Best for active outdoor running/cycling → RR SPORTS IP68, as the lightweight, secure fit prevents sweat damage and keeps ears open to traffic.
When I weigh these two options for my specific needs, particularly for anc true wireless earbuds for meetings or general daily use, I have to draw a line based on the environment. If I am stepping out for a run, hitting the pool, or dealing with unpredictable weather, the RR SPORTS IP68 is the only logical choice because nothing else survives that level of abuse. However, for the vast majority of people using best earbuds for meetings in a stationary setting, the Yoidesu 5.4 is the superior piece of hardware. Its 60-hour battery life and professional sound signature mean I never have to worry about charging or missing a nuance in conversation. In my opinion, unless you are actively swimming or sweating through a marathon, the Yoidesu 5.4 offers a much more robust and versatile experience for daily communication and entertainment.
Both models support Bluetooth connectivity for calls, but the Yoidesu 5.4 is better suited for long meetings due to its superior comfort for extended wear and larger battery capacity, while the RR SPORTS IP68 is better if you are on the move or need to hear colleagues nearby.
Yes, the IP68 rating confirms it can be fully submerged in up to 2 meters of water, but you must use the built-in 32GB MP3 mode rather than Bluetooth while underwater.
The Yoidesu 5.4 lasts significantly longer with up to 60 hours of playtime, whereas the RR SPORTS IP68 provides approximately 7 hours of battery life per charge.
