Hi, I'm Ray.

In the fall of 2024, I will begin at University of Oxford as a probationary research student in philosophy.

Currently, I am a PhD student in the department of philosophy at the University of Minnesota and a graduate student fellow at the Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science. Before coming to philosophy, I earned a masters in physics at Brown University, a masters in teaching at University of Pennsylvania, and I taught physics for five years at Milton Academy.  My research interests span philosophy of physics, metaphysics, and social epistemology. At the moment, I spend most of my time thinking about:

(1) how to conceptualize the properties of ordinary objects in Everettian quantum mechanics,  and

(2) just how complementarity was weaponized as a tool of epistemic violence through the early history of quantum foundations.

Outside of philosophy, I enjoy running, cycling, climbing, hanging out with my magnificent dog Ada, and generally spending time outdoors.
