  • Sedimentary geology – Sequence & seismic stratigraphy; ichnology; fluid reservoir analogs; integration of well logs, 2D/3D seismic and cores; ground penetrating radar (GPR); source to sink; basin analysis; tectonic sedimentology; diagenesis; sedimentology of Mars.

  • Geology and human evolution – Tectonics, climate, and hominin evolution of East Africa.

  • Paleoclimate – Compound-specific and multi-system isotopic study (δ18O, δ13C, and δD) of lipid biomarkers; GDGT paleotemperature; and paleoaltimetry.
