I am a fourth-year PhD student at EHESS, affiliated with the Paris School of Economics (PSE). My doctoral research is supervised by Thomas Piketty (PSE-EHESS) and Mohamed Saleh (LSE). Currently, I am on a research stay at the London School of Economics (LSE), having previously conducted a research stay at the Economic History Department of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) from March to May 2024.
My research interests lie in land inequality, economic history, and political economy, with a particular focus on Egypt. My dissertation examines the long-term impact of the 1952 land reform in Egypt, exploring its effects on land inequality and political outcomes.
Beyond my academic pursuits, I serve as Co-director and Head of Data at the World Inequality Lab. In this role, I contribute to projects that aim to deepen our understanding of global economic inequalities and inform policy solutions.
