Routine Weather is designed with a privacy-first philosophy. We believe your data should belong to you, which is why we do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information. Everything stays on your device.
Since you want to move away from the table, we can use a modular, icon-based card format. This looks great in Markdown and is even easier to skim on a mobile screen or a website.
Routine Weather functions as a "local-first" app. Here is exactly how your data is handled:
The Data: Your device’s GPS coordinates (Latitude/Longitude).
The Purpose: Used to fetch real-time weather, calculate sunset times, and provide routine recommendations.
The Handling: Processed locally. Coordinates are sent via encrypted HTTPS to Open-Meteo and are never logged or saved by us.
The Data: Activity schedules (e.g., dog walking at 6:00 PM), notification toggles, and onboarding status.
The Purpose: To customize your routine experience and trigger local alerts.
The Handling: Stored exclusively on your iPhone using Apple’s UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and is not included in cloud backups.
The Data: Temperature, humidity, wind speed, and precipitation forecasts.
The Purpose: To show you if it’s a good time for your scheduled activities.
The Handling: Cached temporarily on-device for performance. We do not maintain any historical record of the weather at your location.
Instead of a central database, we rely on On-Device Intelligence:
No Account Needed: No emails, no passwords, no hassle.
Privacy by Design: We physically cannot see your data because we don't own a server to store it on.
Instant Deletion: If you delete the app, every single byte of your data is wiped instantly from your device.
Would you like me to create a "Privacy Nutrients" summary (the short bulleted list Apple requires for App Store Connect) based on this format?
We have no interest in your personal life. We explicitly do not collect:
Identity: Name, email, phone number, or contacts.
Identifiers: Device IDs (UDID), IDFA (Advertising IDs), or IP addresses.
Media: Photos, videos, or files.
Analytics: No tracking, no crash reports, and no "heat maps" of your usage.
Activity History: We don't know if you actually went for that run!
To keep the app functional, we use a single, privacy-focused weather provider:
Role: Provides weather forecast data.
Data Shared: Latitude and Longitude.
Privacy: They do not require API keys or accounts, meaning your request is not tied to a personal profile.
Note: We do not use any ads, analytics (like Firebase), or social media SDKs.
Local Storage: Your data is protected by your iPhone’s built-in security (Face ID / Passcode).
No Cloud Sync: We don't use servers, so your data isn't in the cloud. If you delete the app, your data is gone forever.
Permissions: You can revoke Location or Notification access at any time through iOS Settings.
Whether you are in California or Europe, our policy remains the same: We cannot sell or leak what we do not have.
Erasure: Uninstalling the app acts as a "Request to Delete."
Transparency: All your settings are visible in the app’s Settings tab.
