Privacy Policy for Routinely
Effective date: June 8, 2026 · App: Routinely (com.routinely.tracker )
Overview
Your habit data is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to us. Routinely has no user accounts and no servers of our own. However, the app uses a few standard Google services for ads, stability, and configuration, which collect limited technical data as described below.
Information stored on your device
The following stays on your device and is not sent to us:
Your habits (name, icon, color, schedule, target, reminder settings).
Your completion records (which habits you completed and when).
App preferences (notification settings, quiet hours, week start, heatmap range, onboarding status, last app-open time).
Third-party services we use
Routinely integrates the following Google services, each governed by Google's privacy policy:
Google AdMob (advertising) — serves banner and interstitial ads and may collect your device's advertising identifier (AD_ID), IP address, and ad-interaction data. See AdMob & data and Google Privacy Policy.
Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting) — collects crash logs and diagnostic device information to help us fix bugs.
Google Analytics for Firebase (usage analytics) — collects anonymized app-usage and device information.
Firebase Remote Config — fetches configuration values (such as whether ads are enabled); it does not collect personal data.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or precise location.
Advertising and your choices
You can reset or limit ad personalization in Android Settings → Google → Ads (reset advertising ID / opt out of personalization).
Ads may be turned off remotely by us via configuration; when off, no ad requests are made.
Permissions and why
Notifications — habit reminders and smart nudges.
Alarms & reminders (exact alarm) — deliver reminders at the times you set.
Run at startup — restore scheduled reminders after a restart.
Vibrate — notification feedback.
Internet / network state — required for ads, crash reporting, and remote configuration.
On-device intelligence
Reminder personalization and the "smart nudge" logic (including the estimate of whether you may be losing your streak) are computed on your device. This behavioral logic does not send your habit data to us or any third party.
Device backup
If you enable Android's built-in backup, your app data may be included in the backup stored in your own Google account, controlled by your device settings. We have no access to it.
Children's privacy
Routinely is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region) and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
Habit data lives on your device — clear app data or uninstall the app to delete it completely.
For data processed by Google services, refer to Google's retention and deletion controls and the links above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date and post the revised version at this URL.
