Who is Zipper T. Bunny?

Who is Zipper T. Bunny?

Zipper T. Bunny has been apart of the Animal Crossing franchise since City Folk, the second installment of the Animal Crossing franchise. Zipper T. Bunny wears a large zipper on his back which makes this way too suspicious. There are a lot of animal villagers in the franchise so it would be hard to make out who this could be. Today I'll be breaking down the possible characters, special characters, traits, and/or spooky things in the Animal Crossing franchise from City Folk, New Leaf, and New Horizons, on who Zipper T. Bunny could really be. I'll be sharing insights, theories from other YouTubers, my personal theories, background information on Zipper T. Bunny, and much more. So read the full article for who Zipper T. Bunny could be.

In every Animal Crossing game that Zipper T. Bunny is in, you can find him on Bunny Day, the games equivalent to Easter. On Bunny Day, there are special eggs and other prizes in your town that you can find and collect. With the introduction to New Horizons, nothing changes.

With the addition of living on an island, DIY recipes, and the Nook phone, there is a lot of new changes added to the game. Such as Bunny Day egg finding goes on for at least 2 weeks prior to the actual Bunny Day. You can find Bunny Day eggs, recipes, and much more. In fact, there were so many eggs, players started complaining and Nintendo had to tone down the amount of eggs found on your island.

Now there are a lot of clues pointing to who, or rather what, Zipper T. Bunny is. Let's start with the special characters. Tortimer, Phillis, Dr. Shrunk, Resetti, and Lyle.. Some theories state that the T. in Zipper T. Bunny stands for Tortimer. In City Folk, Zipper T. Bunny (who we are going to refer to as Zipper) can be found outside the town hall. Inside the town hall, you can find Tortimer, the mayor, at the same time as Zipper is dancing around outside the town hall. Although in New Leaf, Tortimer cannot be found inside the town hall because he is now retired and you are the new mayor. Another possible character is Dr. Shrunk, but he can be found in the LOL club in New Leaf while Zipper is in the town. Lyle is another possible candidate, as he's not present in Nook Homes in City Folk, but Lyle is present at Nook Homes in New Leaf. Finally we have Resetti. People have said Resetti didn't show up after resetting their game on Bunny Day, but this was debunked by TheBigOReview in his video Who is Zipper T. Bunny? (Animal Crossing).

Then we have Phillis. Phillis has many similar traits as Zipper T. Bunny. Same eyes, both hate their jobs, complain under their breaths, and more. The only stopping point here is that Phillis and Zipper T. Bunny can be found on Bunny Day either in the post office or in The Roost before her shift. Voice is no problem because she can probably change her voice to sound like a male. Again by TheBigOReview in his video Who is Zipper T Bunny? - Part 2 (Animal Crossing), debunked this by taking two accounts in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and had one stay with Zipper and one go to the post office. Phillis was in the post office.

So who could Zipper T. Bunny be? Another person would be Hopkins. Both Zipper and Hopkins are of the Rabbit/Bunny species, and both share the birthday of March 11th. But again debunked by TheBigOReview in Who is Zipper T Bunny? - Part 2 (Animal Crossing). He bought the Hopkins amiibo card, spawned him in on Bunny Day, and both were present in the game.

Before I give my personal opinion, I'd to talk about another theory presented by Matthew Patrick of The Game Theorists in the video Game Theory: Animal Crossing's Scary Bunny unZIPPED! (Animal Crossing New Horizons). This theory states that Zipper T. Bunny is your very own father. The clues are very simple. Your mother is always the one sending you letters and gifts, while your father doesn't really write to you. He even admits it on Father's Day. One of the letters he can send states: "Dear (Player Name). I'm writing to make sure you haven't forgotten what today is. Hint: it has to do with your dear old dad! It's Father's Day! Dad." This could be his way of somehow getting you to appreciate him for Easter without you knowing he is Zipper T. Bunny. This all makes sense. He doesn't fit in with the animal NPCs, he complains about how the suit is hot and stuffy but just wants to make Easter/Bunny Day the best for you.

Now for my personal opinion. I think it's Rover. In every other Animal Crossing game, Rover helps with your character creation. In New Horizons, he is replaced with Timmy and Tommy. The only time you can see Rover so far, is during the May Day event. You would go to get the May Day ticket from Tom Nook and go travel to a maze. Once you complete the maze, Rover is there to grant you the prize. Now once you create your character in the other Animal Crossing games, Rover is no where to be seen. He continues to travel.

This also ties to the theory that Rover was supposed to be the mayor of your town in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Of course once he finds out you're going to the same town, he decides to continue to ride the rails and let you become mayor as no one believes you aren't the mayor. The only person who knows is Tom Nook. He got Rover the mayoral position after Tortimer retires. He didn't tell the town because he wanted it to be a surprise, and knew Rover liked to travel. This is all just a theory though.

Now since Rover isn't seen at all during Animal Crossing games besides character creations and the end of the May Day maze in New Horizons, this opens up the opportunity for Rover to check in on the town you're living in during City Folk, your town which he is supposed to be mayor in during New Leaf, and your new island to check up on Tom Nook during New Horizons. Of course Tom Nook would know about Rover being Zipper T. Bunny since he probably wouldn't allow any random person on the island. But then here is where the theory goes down. Rover is a cat, while Zipper is a bunny. Rover's birthday is on February 1st, while Zipper's birthday is on March 11th. But still, this theory still stands.

I hope you enjoy this theory and stay tuned for videos on my 2 youtube channels and more theories and randomness on my website! Have a good day/afternoon/night and I'll see you next time. Bye!
