About Me

My name is Sophie and I'm a third-year humanities student with an emphasis on literature.

I used to think I didn't like movies until I was introduced to avant garde cinema, which made me realize how versatile film is. Most recently, I've been interested in horror and science fiction stories, especially those told by marginalized voices.

Last semester I took a course on Japanese cinema, which was my first formal introduction to film studies. I'm certain that Film Theory and Criticism won't be my last film class!
