Dave and Krissy are Upbeat...

... in more ways than one! The swing dancing spouses have danced Lindy Hop for seven years and taught it for three, starting with non-profit community class RotherHop.

Dave grew this group from a few members to two friendly bands of bopping buddies, who attend classes and socials in both Rotherham and Barnsley.

Dave is a journo and broadcaster...

... bringing this experience into the teaching role, holding students' attention by emphasising entertainment.

He is also a creative entrepreneur (see here), a keen improv comic, a ‘Fun Science’ demonstrator at children’s clubs and parties and an A-level academic tutor; all of which makes him a better dance teacher, he maintains!

Krissy is an archaeologist...

... which probably has no bearing on her dance teaching, at all! But she has managed community excavations and tutored undergraduate students in the subject as part of her PhD qualification, meaning she is also an experienced passer-on of knowledge.

If Dave is the driver, Krissy is the conductor; while he keeps the dance train rolling, she makes sure everyone is along for the ride!

Both are consummate pros...
