I don’t really optimize, so I know that the builds I make aren’t min/maxed builds (though some are better than others). This project started for me as a way to plan out lore-focused builds for a playthrough with every companion (thanks No Party Limit Mod!), so winning combat encounters was not a huge concern. It evolved to me enjoying creating character-centric builds, playing around with item synergies, and having fun.
Here are particular ways that I do not optimize fully:
I don’t change starting stats (rip to all the odd number stats in the origin characters)
I try to keep multi-classing to a minimum, unless it fits within the narrative (no Rogue Thief levels just for another bonus action, etc.)
I try to limit respeccing unless there is a pivotal moment of character development (like Shadowheart sparing Nightsong or Lae'zel abandoning Vlaakith)
I pick items that feel like they “go together” even if another choice might be more optimized (like sacrificing AC to wear a complete set or because I prefer the look of another)
you may know that this whole project started as a way for me to organize my thoughts for an upcoming playthrough without the 4 party member limit where i anticipated wandering around the game with 12 people. as i've written the guides, some of them fit really nicely with others, so i figure i'd have a dumping zone of my recommended party ideas.
12 characters with no item overlap (at least I tried, let me know if something is wrong)
