Neil Sholden, known as “Chief,” is one of the captains of the search and rescue shuttles based on the technical platform “Eylon.”
He commands Raven-4, a small shuttle used for quick-response missions in open space.
Neil started as a mechanic. Over time, together with his crew, he became the core of Raven-4 — the person who keeps things running and makes decisions when it matters.
This project focuses on grounded, realistic sci-fi with a slight noir mood. It’s about people who do their job every day, without attention or recognition.
The idea is simple: instead of heroes, it shows ordinary workers — a small crew going out into space to do their work.
There’s a parallel with sailors, rescuers, or fishermen of the late 19th century. Different time, same feeling — heading into the unknown, just doing the job.
It was the first step in finding the idea and designing the character. In general, I wanted to merge a few styles and centuries. I thought about sailors and fishers from the 19th century—just workers. I tried to move these working-class characters into the future, to a space station called “AYLON,” and connect them with a retro-futuristic style.
