Seven THEORY lessons and five PRACTICAL lessons (pool), plus five PRACTICAL lessons (open water) and theory assessment. On satisfactorily completing this course, you will be considered qualified as OCEAN DIVER.
On completion of this training, you may start Sports Diver training and build up experience, skills and familiarity of various sites. Whilst training for Sports Diver, you are limited to a maximum depth of 20 metres.
Six THEORY lessons and seven PRACTICAL lessons – all under the supervision of an Instructor.
Whist it is possible to achieve this qualification with the minimum training alone, there is no substitute for experience and we strongly recommend that you take part in a many dives as possible to broaden experience between your training dives and assessment.
Once you are qualified to dive in open water, because we are a ‘club’, you can progress at a pace that suits YOU. There is no pressure on students to rush through training.
Ocean Divers can go on immediately to train for Sports Diver, which gives them freedom to dive with all other members in the branch who are Ocean Divers or above.
On completion of this course, Sports Divers are limited to maximum depth of 35 metres (20 metres with Ocean Divers) and to ‘no- stop’ dives (dives not involving decompression stops) and may progress to Dive Leader training.
Twelve THEORY lessons and nine PRACTICAL sessions plus experience dives. On successful completion of this course, Dive Leaders may lead others including Ocean Divers on open water dives to gain experience, are judged competent to carry-out decompression stops and able to dive to the maximum depth of 50 metres.
