Be Kind, Courteous, and Respectful
Be willing to learn and bring a positive attitude to training. This is very important, every dog is different, just as we are. Everything we are feeling is communicated to your dog through the leash, and if you are having a bad day, you could be setting your dog up for a bad day too.
Your safety and the safety of your dog is always first and foremost. If you feel something is unsafe or have a concern, speak up immediately so we can address it before a potential accident or incident occurs.
All dogs will be kept on a leash or in a kennel at all times. This is an ON LEASH CLASS.
Keep a safe and healthy distance between dogs. Not everybody's dogs are social and dogs can have bad days.
When you first arrive at training, give your dog a potty break. PLEASE pick up any messes. We have doggie bags available.
We recommend not feeding your dog before class- if their belly is full and we try to use food as a reward, they may not be as interested in complying with training.
Handlers 16 yo and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Appropriately fitting flat collar- it should fit snugly behind the ears. Metal buckles are preferred for larger dogs to prevent failure. Throughout the training, we may recommend different styles of collars and leashes to fit the needs of each dog. We will demonstrate and monitor the safe use of these tools.
6 to 8-foot dog leash
Plenty of Dog treats- high-value treats such as cut-up hotdogs, cheese, green beans, or store-bought treats. Avoid anything large, or crunchy that the dog will have to spend a lot of time chewing. We will also have our preferred E3 dog treats available for sale at a discount. It is also perfectly acceptable to bring your dog's dinner and use the dry kibble as a training reward!
Treat Pouch, fanny pack, or pocket to keep treats readily accessible, timing is critical to successful training.
