Freshman year
Freshman year of Marching band, the only experience I had was 4 years of middle school band and 4 days of Marching band. Being a part of the program showed me the truly talented band Alhambra had and the atmosphere of rehearsals and the football games and the shows were something I couldn't experience anywhere.
Sophomore year
Since Sophomore year was the covid year, there was no marching band. Most of us in the class focused on learning more music theory and practicing our technique for the next season. Sadly, many of us knew that the next year there wouldn't be many band students left.
Junior year
For my Junior year I decided to take a leadership role as Drum Major, since our last Drum Major decided to march. It was fun being the leader, although I had to run the class for most of it. It made me see my friends differently. I was not just a kid marching with the group, I actively gave advice and fixed everyone's issues. I did miss marching though, and the decrease In students from 28 to 23 students made it difficult to function.
Senior Year
For the final year of my Marching Endeavor, I became a student leader instead of Drum Major, because there were only 15-18 students. It was really fun, however, since we still had people. Our main focus this year was a pep band, recruiting members for the next year. We all hope that next year we will have more students ready to march on.
