Art Supplies!
Below is a table showing what supplies would be good to have in your School Art Kit. Art supplies are expensive and I realize that each of my students will have access to different materials. This year we will be learning with projects that let you work with whatever materials you have access to - just prepare a kit with whatever you can include. The brands I like to get for the classroom are listed below, but of course, whatever you have will be fine. If you can not get any supplies to work with, drop me a note and I will see what I can do.
I hope families can add a few items to their "Back to School Shopping List" for art making, whether students have a specific art class, or not! If students are not in an official art class, ideas will be available for them to try on this site under the "Parker Art Club Online" section. Art is an important part of developing skills of visual literacy, observation, analysis, and more. I hope kids don't forget to create!

Paper / Sketchbook
Computer paper and folder is fine, or a sketchbook or art pad. I love this pad that I found at the 5 Below store. It has large sheets of heavy drawing paper + tracing paper between the sheets - only $5!
Laptop Camera / Phone Camera / Digital Camera
Students will need to photograph and post their work to receive credit
Recycled Papers / Collage Papers
This can be colorful junk mail, old magazines / newspapers, product packaging, or more fancy paper made for collage.
Other things nice to have access to at home if possible:
Paper
Optional: Paper will be passed out in class for students to use for their projects (once we are in person), along with a folder to store their work in . Students might want to have paper at home, too. A sketchbook or folder of copy paper is great.
Sharpie Multi-Color Set
Optional: Note that these should not be used to color large areas on a page due to fumes. Water based markers are preferred for coloring in shapes.
Chalk Pastels
Optional: Can be messy. Inexpensive "student grade" pastels are fine.
Pastels
Optional: Comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Thin ones are fine.
Even more Great Things to have at home:
Acrylic Paint
Student quality is fine, good to have extra yellow, white, and black on hand. At minimum have Red, Yellow, Blue, Back, and White if buying separately.
Tempera/Poster Paint

Assorted Craft Supplies
You never know what kids would like to use...consider ribbon, pom poms, pipe cleaners, sticks, google eyes, etc.
Construction Paper
Small pad or package, origami paper is nice too.
Watercolor Pencils
Crayola is a good brand and comes in 12 and 24 color sets.
Water Soluble Crayons
"Portfolio" series by Crayola is a great brand that works well.
Air-Dry Modelling Clay
We will not be doing clay virtually, but any kind of clay that does not need firing in a kiln is great to have for those who like to sculpt.
Paint Brush Assortment
An inexpensive selection of flats, rounds, wash, and detail brushes is nice to have.
