Roovet News Media (RNM) is a multinational news platform and website operating from Jacksonville, Florida, U.S. Founded in 2024 by American businessman Tony James Nelson II as a news media website, and presently owned by the Jacksonville-based media conglomerate Roovet Local & International Corporation, RNM was the first news website to provide learning content as well as local and international news and the first all-news website in the United States.
In 2013, Nelson registered the roovet.com domain to promote the search engine Roovet, a small search engine he built.The website provided search results.
RNM launched its website, roovet.com (initially known as Roovet Search Engine), on August 30, 2023. The site attracted growing interest over its first year and is now one of the most popular news websites in the world. The widespread growth of blogs, social media and user-generated content have influenced the site, and blogs, in particular, have focused RNM's previously scattershot online offerings, most noticeably in the development and launch of Roovet Network in late 2015. Mr. Nelson has moved the search engine to roovet.net in 2023 and made roovet.com a news only website.
In April 2024, roovet.com ranked 10th place among online global news sites in unique users in the World., according to Nielsen/NetRatings; with an increase of 21% over the previous year. Roovet News Media was the name of a paid subscription service, its corresponding website, and a content delivery client that provided streams of live video from up to four sources (or "pipes"), on-demand access to Roovet News Media stories and reports, and optional pop-up "news alerts" to computer users. The installable client was available to users of PCs running Microsoft Windows. There was also a browser-based "web client" that did not require installation. The service was continued in July 2024, and was replaced with a free service.
