Dr Vinay Shukla,
ERC Starting Grant Awardee
Dr Shukla leads the RO2T Respiration Group. His research explores how oxygen availability regulates root development and function, integrating concepts from plant physiology, developmental biology, and gas signalling. He established the lab after several years of research at the University of Oxford and now continues this work at the University of Nottingham.
The RO2T Respiration Lab is an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment. We welcome researchers from diverse backgrounds including plant biology, biophysics, bioengineering, and quantitative sciences.
(Current lab members will be listed here.)
We are looking for a curious, motivated teammate who is excited by fundamental questions in plant biology and comfortable working at the interface of development, physiology, and environment. The ideal candidate enjoys combining experimental approaches with quantitative thinking, is keen to learn new techniques, and values careful, reproducible science. We place strong emphasis on collaboration, open communication, and intellectual generosity, and welcome team members who are proactive, thoughtful, and enthusiastic about contributing to a supportive and interdisciplinary research environment.
